BRB 2835 is an alkyl dimethicone which helps to enhance the texture and spreadability of cosmetic products, giving them a silky and smooth feel upon application.

BRB 2835 is a linear polysiloxane whose alkyl chains are randomly distributed specifically developed for its good compatibility with many organic cosmetic ingredients. It is designed for use in skin care, color cosmetics and hair care applications and enhanced the SPF of organic and inorganic sunscreens.

BRB 2835 boosts the SPF of formulations for both organic and inorganic sun protection due to its exceptional spreadability properties. It can therefore help to preserve the SPF and reduce the quantity of UV filter applied.

SPF Boosting Effect:
Oil-in-water emulsion contains 6% organic sunscreen.

Fig.1 indicated that the SPF boosting effect (in-vitro) in O/W emulsions contains 6% Uvinul A Plus B related to concentration of BRB 2835 added into formulation. The maximum SPF boosting effect is achieved by the addition of 1% of BRB 2835

SPF Boosting Effect:
Oil-in-water emulsion contains 5% inorganic sunscreen.

Fig.2 indicated that the SPF boosting effect (in-vitro) in O/W emulsions contains 5% titanium dioxide related to concentration of BRB 2835 added into formulation. The maximum SPF boosting effect is achieved by the addition of 0.5% of BRB 2835.
